Incentive travel is evolving. Today’s travellers seek more than relaxation—they crave immersive, wellness-focused experiences that restore balance, engage the senses, and foster deeper connections.

Our global DMC partners have curated exceptional wellness activities rooted in local culture and natural beauty. Here’s a look at some of the most inspiring offerings from around the world.

Stepping away from AIME in Melbourne this year, I found myself less interested in the volume of meetings or the scale of the show, and more focused on how people were engaging with one another — and why.

AIME has long been a cornerstone for our industry in Asia Pacific, bringing together destinations, venues, planners and partners in one concentrated moment of connection. But what struck me this year was a quiet shift in tone. Beneath the buzz and the business cards, there was a shared acknowledgement that our industry is recalibrating.
Yes, we are all still here to do business. But the way we want to do business is changing our meetings are not   transactional environments — they are relational ones. They align when they create trust and context.
That’s where the concept of our event in Sydney  Destination Marketplace becomes especially interesting.

In theory, Destination Marketplace is about efficiency: buyers meeting sellers, destinations presenting product, schedules optimised for outcomes. In practice, its real value lies elsewhere. The most meaningful conversations don’t happen because a meeting is pre‑scheduled — they happen because there is alignment. Shared values. A genuine curiosity about fit, not just availability. The buyers in the room were searching for better. Better alignment with their companies or clients’ expectations, better storytelling and an overall better understanding of place people and purpose. Relationships.
Walking the floor, it was clear that many buyers are no longer searching for “more”.  That’s where events like this and AIME allow for thoughtful discussions something that AI can’t give you.
We at Tourism Portfolio strive to create events and connections that create conditions for deeper conversations to happen. Bringing together the industry to meet our global DMC partners but also to support our supplier partners.
Because meaningful business is still built on trust, context and people — not algorithms. And the best conversations are always done over a nice glass of French!
