Courtesy and hospitality are one of the many virtues of Dubai. Rulers are keen to maintain their culture and do so through a number of practices. One is promoting sporting events that are representative of their past. Falconry, camel racing and dhow sailing are still popular in Dubai. The official language of the country is Arabic, however most people in and out of the workplace communicate in English. There are so many different nationalities in Dubai, English finds common ground with most people. The majority of road and shop signs, restaurant menus etc. are in both English and Arabic.

To help guests make the most out of their time in the region we offer a range of exciting day tours that cover such diverse activities as desert driving to hot air ballooning and polo days.
Polo: Play polo at the acclaimed Dubai Polo Academy. If you thought that Polo was only for expert horsemen, then think again! In this fun introduction to ‘the sport of kings’ you too can experience the thrill and excitement of polo with expert tuition from the Dubai Polo Academy. On arrival you will be greeted by one of the Academy’s instructors who will introduce you to your polo pony. Every one of the Academy’s ponies is responsive and obedient and allows even complete novices to progress quickly in this entertaining sport. Once you have mastered the basic riding skills you will be taught how to swing the mallet and be given an introduction to the rules! After tuition you will then have the opportunity to play in a ‘mini chukka’ with other members of the group, but using a larger than normal sized ball for more achievable results! Individual and team awards will be presented after the match.
Golf: Dubai, home of the Desert Classic, is establishing itself firmly as a golfer’s paradise, with no fewer than 6 championship standard courses, fantastic facilities and perfect weather. If you’d like to maximize your time on the fairways then we can put together a golfing package for you that includes tee time reservations on all courses, reduced green fees, advice on the best courses and, for beginners and improvers, advice on where to get lessons.
Theatre: Live theatre isn’t just the preserve of the West End of London or New York’s Broadway, now you can have a night out at the theatre in Dubai. We’ve teamed up with the Madinat Theatre to offer you an evening of sophistication and culture. The package includes a pre-theatre dinner at one of the elegant outlets in the Madinat Jumeirah - either Left Bank or Pisces, theatre tickets and return transfers. The Madinat Theatre has hosted popular shows such as ‘Who’s Line is it Anyway’ and ‘The Woman in Black’. This season our touring productions include ‘Abigail’s Party’ and ‘Private Lives’.
Desert Adventures: Set off from Dubai and you are soon off-road and our 4×4s are put to the test as we head through some fine wadis and on into the Hajar mountains. You have a choice of picnic lunch, or a quick bite at the Hatta Fort Hotel. After we head off for a spell of ‘dune bashing’, where our skilful drivers take you up and over some of the largest sand dunes and you really get to grips with the terrain. We’ll call in at a camel farm to see these ‘ships of the desert’ in their element and, as sunset approaches, we park up to enjoy the beauty of the desert at dusk. This full day tour can also include a visit to the bedouin camp at an added cost. Shorter tours including road quad biking and Bedouin camp dinner also available.
